Xenu’s Link Sleuth is an old time tool used by many SEOs and Webmasters alike. Xenu is a Windows based application meant for webpage crawling. It’s really useful when you need to scan more than 500 pages and are on a budget.

Search Engine Advanced Search Operators Can Be Useful
Google search itself can be a great way to crawl a website. Using something called ” Advanced Search Operators ” a specific search can be done to deliver restricted results. For example using ” site:domain.com ” will bring up many of the website pages in SERPs. Now remember the number in the results will not always reflect the number of webpages on a website. For a number of reasons a website could have more or less so relying on that number to be 100% accurate isn’t recommended.
The exporting of these results can then be done via Google Sheets and something called web scraping. Using a specific piece of code can Google Sheets into a web scraper and display data selected. This is very useful to display meta titles, meta descriptions and even URLs. Considering the endless possibilities of using advanced operators with the power of a web scraper, many mundane SEO tasks can be automated.
